Michelle Butkus is a native of Medford, Wisconsin a small town that is home of Tombstone pizza! She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire where she majored in Physical Education and minored in Adaptive Physical Education.

She began her softball career at the young age of 6 and continued playing it throughout college. She began her collegiate career at the Division 2 level at the University of Minnesota Duluth where she held the homerun record, but after her sophomore year she transferred to the University of Eau Claire. There she captained her team to a NCAA National Championship title in 2008. Apart from her team’s success, Michelle was also successful earning 2008 NCAA All-Tournament Team, 2007 and 2008 WIAC All Conference Team, 2007 NFCA Great Lakes All Region Team and earned Academic Distinction for 8 semesters.

Her experience in coaching is also extensive and something that she has been involved in since 2008. Being a Head High School Softball coach in Wisconsin, an Assistant at Blaine as well as a coach at the collegiate level, she has had the opportunity to learn and grow with and alongside many successful coaches. Her experience and passion for the game makes her eager to share her knowledge about the game with up and coming Blaine Bengals softball players.

When she is not devoting her time to teaching and coaching others, you can find Michelle hanging with her partner, Amanda, dogs Leine and Thompson, at the Crossfit gym or cruising on the lake. A quote Michelle likes to live by is by Michael Jordan and that is "I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can't accept not trying."
